Die klassische Frage unter Reisenden, gern mal angetragen am Busbahnhof oder beim Check-In im Hotel, kann einem schon mal auf die Nüsse gehen. Auf die Antwort „Germany“ folgt dann oft ein: „Oh, I know a guy from Wanne-Eickel“ oder „Ah, very good football team!“ und gerne auch „Great Autobahn!“

Um dieser meist fruchtlosen Konversation zu entgehen, hier ein paar Alternativantworten:

„From my mother’s belly!“

„I don’t know. I woke up in a for me unknown hotel today and don’t even know my name. Can you help me? Do you have some euros/dollars/pesos/bhat/dirham?“

„If I told you, I would have to kill you.“

„From the toilet. Do you want to know more details?“

„My father is from Uganda, my mother from Chile. I was born on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Since that I’ve have a problem with my Identity.“

„I am from Liechtenstein (Andorra/Vatican). Any questions?“
